GPR - Detection of Buried Drums

The objective of this survey was to determine the source of contamination on a former industrial site in New Zealand.
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) measurements were established in a grid pattern across the site to locate the presence of buried drums believed to contain hydrocarbon product. GPR was able to define the extent of buried waste due to high amplitude reflections observed from the drums and also reflections from the edges of the pits
